God's voice in the Bible resonates with our deepest concerns. The writings of other religions display obvious error in morals, science and social ethics, but the Bible remains unique. Consider…

Ř      No major Bible teaching has been proven false over the centuries, although many have tried to find serious errors. The power of the Word of God remains evident in transformed lives, families and societies. On the other hand, dozens of social and so-called scientific theories that contradict the Word of God have come and gone, leaving suffering, death and disillusionment in their wake.

Ř      Even though written over many centuries, long ago, the Bible remains the most reliable book on earth for solving the problems of sin, injustice, family tensions, business abuses, bad government, church life and ethical concerns. There is no way this could be possible without the writers being inspired by God.

Ř      Hundreds of prophecies and prophetic 'types' in Scripture authenticate its divine origin. A ‘type’ is a person or thing in the Old Testament that reflects a New Testament truth in a way that the old writers could never have imagined. They had to have been guided by God. It is as though little children cut small pieces of colored paper at random but they fall on the floor forming a clear portrait of Jesus carrying a lame lamb in His arms.

Ř      Psalm 22:14-22, for example, foretold Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection:

            "I am poured out like water . . .

                        my bones are out of joint . . .

            My strength is dried up like a potsherd,

                        my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;

            you lay me in the dust of death . . .

            A band of evil men has encircled me,
                        they have pierced my hands and my feet.
            I can count all my bones;
                        people stare and gloat over me.
            They divide my garments among them
                        and cast lots for my clothing.
            But You, O LORD, deliver my life
                        from the sword...
         And I will declare your name to my brothers;
                        in the congregation I will praise you."
