So... How does the new farmer learn to grow corn?  Well, without the help of the experienced farmer, he is probably going to try to grow corn the way he grew potatoes.  He will be easily discouraged, frustrated, and he will make many mistakes.  He will probably go back to growing potatoes before long.

With the help of the experienced farmer, in a matter of weeks or months, the potato farmer will be well on his way to harvesting a healthy crop of corn.  Sure, mistakes will be made, but fewer mistakes are better than many.  Also, the new corn farmer will be less likely to go back to farming potatoes if he is being encouraged and mentored by a friend.  Perhaps, the experienced corn farmer will even learn a few things from potato farming! 

New followers of Jesus are like the potato farmer who has to learn how to harvest a new kind of crop.  Matt and Krista Cain have a passion to help new and willing followers of Jesus obey all the commands of Jesus in love.

Anyone who is willing can be used by God to make disciples of Jesus.  Most Christians desire to make disciples just like the potato farmer wanted to grow corn, but few know how to take that first step, and even less know what to do next.

Two farmers are preparing their fields to grow corn. Both are really excited about getting started, but there is one main difference  the two.  The farmer on the east side of town has been growing corn  for 20 years.  The farmer on the west side of town is just beginning his first crop of corn and only has experience growing potatoes.
