All shepherds should use this chart to mentor new leaders, including those in daughter churches, and those who cannot attend formal training classes. Select activities and reading that correspond to current needs of each new flock, in the chart below. Pray for guidance; then listen while each trainee reports what his flock has done since the last meeting. 2. Choose any activity below that a trainee’s flock should develop. Begin with any activity that is urgently needed. 3. Help each trainee to plan the activity. Write his plans in the space under it. Specify in detail what he and his flock will do. 4. Add dates under each activity, where it says ‘Date planned’ and, at a later session, ‘Date, activity being practiced’. 5. Assign reading. Underline the number of the study you choose.
