I have been thinking about two familiar scriptures: “…God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.†Acts 10:38
“And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?” Luke 13:16
In these two passages, Jesus and Peter both clearly link healing with the deliverance of people from the devil’s power. I pray that more believers will take the authority of Christ, that He has given us (Mat. 10:1, 8 – Luke 9:1-2 – Luke 10:19), and set the captives free, and bring them into the Kingdom of God. If we do not have the necessary skills, let us get the training we need from a practitioner who can help us. The lost and oppressed are waiting. Let us be fully equipped to deal with any bondage, oppression or affliction that holds them captive.
