John 6:1-15
POY! SKIT GUIDELINES:
- In a small group, participants might simply read their lines, or glance at their lines to get the idea so they can speak in their own words.
- Most POY! skits require no practice in advance.
- Have any small children play a brief part. Most scripts have an optional part for children, listed last under Participants.
- Most scripts have a Narrator who should read the script beforehand to see how to keep moving the story along.
- It is not necessary to employ costumes and objects, unless the skit recommends such.
- It is not required to have an audience watch the skit. All present may participate.
- Scripture and paraphrases, if any, usually appear in bold.

(Jerk the bag away, hold it tightly to your body and turn sideways to hide it from the girl.) |
Girl |
(Walk away, then stop, turn suddenly and eye the bread as the boy raises it to his mouth.) |
Boy |
(As the girl walks away, lift the bread to your mouth. When she turns to watch, lower the bread quickly and put it back in the bag.) |

Oh! Thank you!(Look at your Father.) My dad is hungry, too! |
Father |
You are very kind, young man. But we are not the only ones who are hungry. All these people are starving, too. (Gesture toward the audience.) |
Boy |
What can I do? I only have five barley loaves and two fish. |
Father |
(To the group). Do you recall what happened next? Tell us. |
Prompter & Companions |
Tell us! Tell us! |
DISCUSS:
What happened next?
(Good answer: Jesus blessed the boy’s lunch and miraculously multiplied it to feed 5,000 others.)
How does this event display what Jesus often does with what we give for His work?
Jesus provided enough bread for everyone who wanted it. In what way does this compare to His assertion that He is the Bread of Life?
